Macbook 3D Model

This blog post is a follow-up post from my previous post highlighting my office chair, in which I explained I would be posting a series of posts over a number of days, showing my different models in my urban apartment scene.

Above is a model of MacBook which I modelled using my own MacBook as a reference. I am very pleased with how this model turned out as I feel like it does resemble it very well and does look fairly realistic. My evidence for it looking realistic isn’t only these renders but also the fact that my brother believed I was just looking at images of a MacBook on my computer when he came into my room.

Starting to Create my Pachinko Machine – Unity

For level 1 and 2 I have outline a head (level 1) and a pumpkin (level 2). I plan to add colour to each of these in the near future, but for now they allow for me to plan a working level.

All the circles in each level have a ‘Circle Collider 2D’ with a ‘Physical2D material’ attached to it. This allows for the player to bounce off each of the pins/balls. The goal of each level is not set, but will be added in once I go into the scripts of the game. No code has actually been used so far as physics is all that is needed for this stage of the game (making colliders and for the ball to fall and bounce).

As I progress through the creation of this game I plan on developing the complexity of each level as the levels increase. I believe this will make the game more interesting and hopefully, in a sense, addictive (wanted to eagerly complete each level).

while making this simple outline of a game I have learned more about ‘2D colliders’ and I have also learned how to use ‘Physical2D materials’. I would personally say this is good progress, especially considering I have very little experience using Unity.

Next Gen

Hello my name is Bailey Brian, I am a new student studying Next Gen at Sunderland College. From a very young age I have had a love for gaming which has developed to a passion for many aspects of technology. As my interest for the technology grew, I expanded my knowledge of technology as well as my love for gaming and graphic design (which was fuelled by my early interest in art). Growing up I have always dreamed of creating my own game and for other people to be able to experience it. The very first time I experienced the wonder that is gaming was when I was 3/4 and my uncle showed me he was playing at the time called ‘Baldur’s Gate’. I instantly fell in love with the mysterious fantasy game, and it now stands to be one of my favourite games still to this day as it is the game that started it all for me. However, my favourite game of all time is ‘Destiny’ as I love how it is a different experience to any other game.

While studying the Next Gen course I expect to develop my artistic ability as well as learning new skills in the areas of: Game design / programming, 3D modelling, animation and VFX. My main focus being Game design / programming, I hope that my previous mathematical knowledge will help. My ultimate goal is to enter the gaming industry as a game programmer / designer – that would be a dream come true! Fantasy and shooting games are the two main genres I would prefer to work with.
